Description
This "Northern" type locomotive was built by Alco for the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul & Pacific Railroad affectionately known as "The Milwaukee Road". The railroad called them Class S3's and they were used on both passenger and freight trains alike. This engine, #261, is maintained in operable condition and is frequently used for railfan excursions. The sight, sound and smell of one of these big engines going by at speed is truly thrilling.
