Artist's Description

The T-38 Talon is a 2 seat, twin-engine, supersonic jet trainer. First flown in 1959, the Talon has been in service with the US Air Force, US Navy and NASA. The aircraft was also flown by the USAF Thunderbirds from 1974 to 1983. On February 18, 1962, a T-38 set 4 time-to-climb world records to 3,000, 6,000, 9.000 and 12,000 meters. With a top speed of Mach 1.3 and impressive climbing ability the Talon became known as “The White Rocket”.
