The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. Artist's Description

The Los Angeles Class submarines are the largest class of nuclear submarines in the world numbering 62 boats. Designed to hunt other submarines the class has also been upgraded over the years with further capabilities with more than half the boats fitted with Tomahawk cruise missiles. Performance figures for the submarine are classified however sources estimate the top speed as high as 37 knots with a maximum diving depth of 1,475 feet. With upgraded fire and combat control systems, the Los Angeles Class still remains one of the ocean￿s top dogs. This piece was commissioned for the commander of one of these magnificent boats.
