Based on the Beechcraft Super King Air 350ER, the MC-12W Liberty is a tactical reconnaissance aircraft providing intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) support to ground troops. The airplane is outfitted with a wide range of electronic and optical sensors, processing capabilities and communications to provide support to Air Force Irregular Warfare Missions. The MC-12W has also been fitted with a laser designator pod for target illumination. The aircraft has performed very effectively for operations in the War in Afghanistan.
