Outclassed by the latest fighters from Japan at the onset of WW II, the P-40 Warhawk was all the United States had available for defense in the China, Burma and India theaters. Even though it was less maneuverable than the Japanese Zero and Oscar fighter, when flown in the hands of a capable pilot using the proper tactics, the Warhawk became a fine fighting machine. Our print depicts two of the P-40E version of the fighter in the Flying Tiger markings used by the 23rd Fighter Group making a low pass over a quaint riverside village somewhere in Burma.
