The Douglas DC-3 first flew in 1935 it is not an understatement to say the DC-3 ranks among the best airplanes ever built. The impact of the DC-3 cannot be overstated. The airplane revolutionized the air travel industry. Passengers ride in comfort at unprecedented speed and range. Rugged and reliable, the DC-3 also found extensive use with military customers.
